- Unplugged’s new Cybershocks promise smoother rides for towing and hauling.
- Tesla’s air suspension changes firmness, sometimes leaving the rear unstable.
- Installation is simple and works with dual-motor AWD and Cyberbeast trims.
While the Cybertruck has stirred more than its fair share of debate, there’s no denying the implementation of standard air suspension and rear steering adds to its appeal. Even so, Tesla tuning specialist Unplugged Performance believes there’s still room for improvement.
The company has introduced a new suspension upgrade that takes things a step further by adding secondary shocks to the rear setup.

Known simply as the Cybershocks, the system is designed to refine ride quality both on and off the beaten path, as well as when towing or hauling. Each unit features adjustable compression and rebound damping, neatly positioned within the rear wishbone for a more responsive setup.
According to Unplugged, the Cybertruck’s factory suspension faces a small but notable flaw. As the air shocks adjust, spring firmness changes, which can leave the rear end under-damped at higher speeds or when carrying heavy loads.
The secondary shocks are meant to calm this behavior, allowing the rear suspension to recover faster after bumps and minimize the oscillations that sometimes follow.
Installation has also been kept deliberately simple. Owners only need to remove the wheel and a plastic cover, fit the upper and lower brackets, then mount the new shock between them.

Unplugged Performance’s Cybershocks aren’t cheap, but that’s hardly surprising in the Cybertruck world. The kit costs $2,995 and is compatible with dual-motor AWD and Cyberbeast variants of the EV. All include a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
Additionally, Unplugged, which claims it has the world’s first indestructible wheel, is encouraging Cybertruck owners to take their vehicles racing and off-roading, noting that doing so will not void the warranty.
These shocks are just the latest in a long line of accessories and upgrades already offered by the Californian company for the electric truck. It sells steel rock sliders, a carbon fiber hood, roof racks, upgraded wheels, braided brake lines, and new sway bars.
Its flagship product, equipped with all of its Cybertruck accessories, costs an insane $300,000.
