It’s not hidden anymore that streaming apps are getting expensive day by day. In the past few months, streaming apps like Prime Video, Netflix, and others announced increased pricing. Now, HBO Max is also joining the price hike race. Starting today, all three plans of HBO Max are getting a price hike. You’ll see a price hike of $1 to $2 per month on every plan starting today.
The Basic, Standard, and Premium HBO Max plans get a price hike of up to $2
Now, you must be wondering what HBO Max’s adjusted price looks like after the increase, right? For starters, the Basic plan with ads sees a jump of $1 and now costs $10.99 per month. Whereas the Standard HBO Max plan goes up by $1.50, and will set you back by $18.49 per month.
Finally, the Premium plan now costs $22.99 per month. That’s a hike of $2 per month, from the previous pricing of $20.99 per month. If we have to compare the increased price with that of Netflix, you’ll see a noticeable difference.
Apart from the Netflix Premium, which now costs $24.99 per month, the Standard ($17.99 per month) and Basic plan with ads ($7.99 per month) are more affordable than HBO Max’s respective plans. If you live in the US, you’ll save a few dollars when you sign up for Netflix’s Standard and Basic plans.
Annual pricing is also getting a substantial increase
As far as the price hike on the yearly plan is concerned, the Basic with Ads bumps up $10 more and now costs $109.99 per year. Meanwhile, the Standard and Premium plans’ annual pricing goes up by $15 per year (now $184.99 per year) and $20 per year (now $229.99 per year), respectively.
That said, Warner Bros. Discovery notes that you’ll save up to 16 percent on every annual plan. In case you’re in no mood to pay extra money for these plans, you always have the option to cancel your HBO Max subscription.
