Next week, OnePlus plans to announce the OnePlus 15 in China, just a few weeks before its global launch. So, the OnePlus social media team is hard at work dropping teasers about the next device.
Today, over on its Weibo channel, OnePlus dropped a photo of its cooling system. It introduces a new Glacier cooling system that is made from ultra-thin, hand-tearable steel that is reportedly able to dissipate heat twice as fast as before. OnePlus has also included a new “Glacier” chip air conditioning architecture. This is essentially a custom-designed system that is able to lower the core temperature of the chip.
OnePlus also has a “Glacier” aerogel layer that uses a space-grade insulation material to keep your fingers cool while gaming. OnePlus is also taking things further for gamers with its “Gaming Hand Cooling Model,” which OnePlus says is the first ever. This feature has ten specific heat zones on the device to keep your fingers cool during long gaming sessions.
OnePlus 15 launches globally next month
OnePlus 15 is being announced next week, and surprisingly, it’ll be announced globally shortly after. Typically, there’s a few months’ gap between the China and Global launch; having only a few weeks in between is much better. For example, last year the OnePlus 13 was announced in November in China, but didn’t make its global debut until January.
Internally, the OnePlus 15 will sport the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and of course, it’ll have all of the latest bleeding-edge specs as OnePlus always tends to use. Though there is a big change coming this year in the camera. OnePlus has dropped Hasselblad to go back to its own camera processing. Surprising since OPPO is still using Hasselblad on the Find X9 series.
