The Samsung Galaxy S23 series users have started receiving Android 16-based One UI 8 update earlier this month. That goes for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE users started getting it soon after that, but only in India. Well, Android 16 is now rolling out to the Galaxy S23 FE users in the US as well.
Android 16-based One UI 8 is now hitting the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE in the US
The update is available on carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S23 FE in the States. That update weighs under 3GB in size, but not by much, it would seem.
The report states that the update comes with the firmware version S711USQU6EYIF. In addition to Google’s changes to Android 16, this update delivers some changes from Samsung, too, of course.
It adds features to several of Samsung’s core apps, that includes Samsung Health, Reminders, Routines, Internet, Calendar, Contacts, and more. It also improves what Galaxy AI has to offer. Personalized suggestions to users have been improved, for example.
You’ll also get way more personalization options for the lock screen. The clock’s font can now wrap around faces or objects, which is something we’ve seen other OEMs offer on their smartphones.
Now Bar has been added, amongst other things
Now Bar has been added to the table too. It can show real-time app activity and media player progress on the lock screen. Drawing Assist and Writing Assist features will come in handy to some of you.
Some security-related improvements have also been made. In any case, this update will soon spread to other smartphones in the US. Chances are you’ll have access to it soon, if you don’t have already. Just keep in mind that the rollout is handled in stages, as is usually the case with such updates.
