As part of the latest update, Gboard is now letting you tweak font size any way you want. We knew this feature was coming as it was a part of a beta build, but it’s now a part of the stable channel, too.
You can now tweak Gboard’s font size, easily
Up until now, your phone settings would basically determine some settings of Google‘s Gboard. You couldn’t really do in the font department. That has changed now. You can now head into the Settings menu for Gboard app, find the Preferences section, and navigate to the Font size submenu to tweak things properly.
Once you tap that submenu, a pop-up will appear, showing you a slider. If you leave it as is, the font will match what the system settings are. If you move it to the right, the fun begins.

The font can be adjusted in 15% increments starting at 85%. It will jump by 15% up to the 130% mark. Once you go past that, the slider will jump from 150% to 180%, and then to 200%, which is the largest setting you can use.
The change will affect everything on the keyboard except the emoji key
This font change will change everything on your Gboard except the emoji key. Once you make the changes, you won’t see a preview of what’s being made, unfortunately. Rest assured, changes have been made, and you’ll need to fire up Gboard in order to see the new setup.
In all honesty, I have never wanted the font on Gboard to be bigger than it is. Changing that has never crossed my mind, so I guess I’m happy with what’s the default setting. If you are among the people who want a larger font, however, you’ll love this feature. It’s straightforward and useful.
This feature should already be available to most people, just make sure you’re using the latest version of Gboard app that is available.
