Google Photos is the default gallery app on Android. It’s also a powerful photo editor. However, collage is not its best feature and is a pain to create. That’s changing now as Google Photos is giving its collage creator a major overhaul, giving more control to users. This upgrade also makes sharing a creation and submitting feedback easier.
Google Photos brings major upgrades to collage creation
With the new major Google Photos upgrade, users get the flexibility to select an empty template without relying on images. You can now add or remove images directly from the editor without starting over. This has been a major complaint for many, as previously, once you have picked the photos and realised the layout is not right, you cannot make changes without starting again. This was frustrating enough to make you quit creating a collage.
The new upgrade allows you to add, rearrange, or remove photos, and switch between different layouts anytime you want. All this without losing your progress. This gives you the freedom to experiment with different combinations.
New modern layouts and a built-in share button
Google is also bringing new templates with modern layouts, new styles suited for some events, and a cleaner look. Additionally, the collage editor now has a built-in share button for you to share your creation directly on social media without saving and leaving the app.Â
Google notes that it’s building this for you and wants to know your thoughts. For that, there’s a new “Getting started” prompt in the three-do menu to guide you through the feature and an option to send your feedback. This should make it easier to submit their thoughts.Â
Google hasn’t explicitly specified when these new upgrades will roll out, but they should be made available gradually. You can check for these by selecting images, then tapping the Create button and choosing Collage.
