The countdown for Nubia’s next flagship launch has officially begun. The Nubia Z80 Ultra’s launch date, alongside the glimpses of its new design and colors, has been revealed. It brings the classic gaming touch of the company with the latest and most powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Nubia Z80 Ultra launch date confirmed for October 22nd
Nubia has officially confirmed that its flagship Z80 Ultra device will hit the Chinese market on October 22nd. The company has also added a few images that give us the very first official look at the device’s design. At first glance, the Z80 Ultra seems to carry a similar design language as its predecessors. However, there are some noticeable refinements.
The camera bump gets a reshuffled layout. The main and the ultrawide lenses are now placed on top, whereas the periscope lens sits below. And unlike most Chinese OEMs, Nubia is still sticking to sharp corners and a boxy design language. It gives it a clean, balanced, and standout look. The device would be available in the following colors: Light White, Phantom Black, and a Vincent van Gogh-inspired Starry Sky Collector’s Edition.
Nubia’s next flagship packs elite-level performance and the cameras
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is going to be one of the first smartphones in China to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Further, it will pack a large 144Hz refresh rate supported OLED display. On top of it, the device is said to feature an under-display selfie camera. It’s also rumored to pack a 7,100mAh battery with 90W fast wired charging support.
Coming down to the cameras, it will pack an updated 18mm ultrawide lens with a 1/1.55-inch sensor and 7P lens elements, paired with a 35mm main lens powered by the 1/1.3” Omnivision 990 sensor. The telephoto unit will support up to 50X hybrid zoom with OIS, and is believed to be the same 64MP module from the Nubia Z70 series.
