The OnePlus 13 is the very best phone the company has to offer at the moment, and it’s not even close. This is the company’s flagship offering, and it’s basically running unopposed. OnePlus announced a single flagship in the current lineup, not even a new book-style foldable was announced by the company. That leaves the OnePlus 13 as the sole contender for the position.
This smartphone not only offers outstanding performance thanks to the fact that OnePlus didn’t skimp out on components, but it covers all the other sections really well. The Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers outstanding performance, as it’s paired with plenty of fast RAM and storage inside of this phone. OnePlus also optimized OxygenOS here to the max, which only helps with the overall performance.
There is also a large 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery included to help the phone deliver great battery life. You’ll be able to enjoy blazing fast charging, too, as well as fast 50W wireless charging. An outstanding ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner is also included, not to mention a very compelling camera setup on the back. The OnePlus 13 is trying to be great at everything, and it’s kind of succeeding. OnePlus tried to offer the best of everything, and that includes pricing, too. It is blazing fast, one of the fastest smartphones that we’ve used to date. The best of all, you can actually feel the difference when you push it really hard, compared to some of the competitors. It feels buttery smooth, which is a combination of its powerful hardware, optimization, and OnePlus’ animations.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite is an outstanding processor that manages to keep things going, and if you combine that with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage included in this phone, you’re good to go. You can play every single demanding game on the Google Play Store without a problem. The phone doesn’t even get that hot while you’re doing it, not to mention that there are some gaming features included here, including a gaming hub. It can surely serve as a gaming smartphone.
OnePlus also wanted to offer great battery life, hence that huge 6,000mAh battery pack. The phone succeeds in that, too. If you do need a quick top-up, you can get it via 100W wired (80W in the US) and 50W wireless charging, without a problem. Even the cameras on the phone are great, with very compelling hardware and outstanding Hasselblad-backed processing. To top it all off, IP68 and IP69 certifications are on offer, making this phone tougher than most.

Best Foldable OnePlus Phone
If you’re looking for a foldable OnePlus smartphone, there is only one option for you, the OnePlus Open. The good news is, it’s still a great foldable, and we can easily put it on this list. It did arrive in 2023, but it’s still very much relevant.
The OnePlus Open is the only foldable smartphone that OnePlus announced. It is essentially the OPPO Find N3, but rebranded. OnePlus did not announce a new version of this smartphone, as this one launched in 2024. Considering that it’s the same as the OPPO Find N3 that launched in 2023, we can consider it to be even older. The good news is that, if you still want a foldable smartphone, this one is still very much relevant.
It’s a shame that the OPPO Find N5 did not become the OnePlus Open 2, as it would be much thinner. The OnePlus Open is still compelling in pretty much every way, though. It has vegan leather on the back, which makes it somewhat grippy, not to mention that it has a very compelling set of cameras on the back. Some people would even say it’s better than the newer OPPO Find N5.
The display crease is not really a problem on this device either, while the overall design is also quite appealing. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels the device, and it still works great. It’s backed by 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The camera setup is very compelling, both on paper and in actual use, while Hasselblad’s influence helps with that. The phone also has a very good fingerprint scanner, and much more.

The OnePlus Open may not be the newest smartphone out there, but it’s still very compelling. Its design is one of the most compelling aspects of it. That is, of course, subjective, but many people seem to dig the overall design language. The eco-leather on the back gives the phone some grip, and the circular camera island certainly does make a statement on the back.
This phone is also very compelling in the camera department, despite the fact it launched a while ago. It still has some of the best camera performance amongst foldables, that much is certain. Its cameras are also quite versatile, as you get main, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto cameras on the back.
There are also two very compelling displays included on the device. Two great 120Hz AMOLED displays, both of which go up to 2,800 nits of peak brightness, at least in theory. The speakers on the phone are also nothing to scoff at.

Best Budget OnePlus Phone
The OnePlus 13R is the best budget OnePlus smartphone, if we consider phones under $600 to be budget. This smartphone is a great choice if you’d like to save some cash, and yet get truly great performance. It’s not cheap, but it’s quite affordable considering the prices these days. Its price is a major selling point.
The OnePlus 13R is the best smartphone for you if you want a very fast Android phone, but don’t want to cross that $600 price level. OnePlus managed to balance this phone out perfectly, basically. It has all the best characteristics of its flagship, more or less, and yet it costs $300 less.
OnePlus opted to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip here, which is not the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but it’s plenty fast. It was a flagship chip not that long ago, and combined with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, it does a great job. It also helps that OxygenOS is properly optimized, of course.
That chip, OnePlus’ software, and a huge 6,000mAh battery are also a great recipe for battery life. This phone keeps going, and you’ll be happy with its battery life even if you’re a power user. If you end up needing a quick charge, 80W charging is at your disposal. Stereo speakers are also included, and so is a solid camera setup. That’s where the company had to cut some corners, though.
The main camera on this phone is good, very good, in fact. Not many people will have complaints. The telephoto camera is alright, but not on the flagship level, not even close. It also doesn’t help it offers 2x optical zoom. The third camera, the ultrawide one, is the weakest of the bunch, easily.

The very first thing that always comes to mind when I think of this phone is its price tag. It is just such a perfect price tag for the device, in the sense that it’s low enough to make this phone very appealing. It’s not cheap, but it’s right below the $600 mark, and considering what you’re getting here, it’s the perfect price, in our opinion. It’s actually one of the best phones you can buy at that price point at the moment, if not the best one.
For that price, you’re getting a great-looking screen which is also plenty big. It is very smooth, has thin bezels around it, it’s vivid, and also plenty bright… not to mention plenty sharp too. The SoC that OnePlus opted for makes this phone run great, and fast RAM and storage modules sure do help. OxygenOS is the best it has ever been in terms of performance. Some would say it doesn’t look as good as it used to, but that’s another story entirely.
That large battery also makes the phone rather special, as it allows it to run for quite some time before it needs a charge. The charging is also extremely fast, while the phone’s main camera provides great results. There’s really not much you can complain here, really, as the phone goes out of its way to provide a great experience in almost every category. It is extremely easy to recommend.

Best Cheap OnePlus Phon
If $599 is too much for you, and you’d like something even cheaper from OnePlus’ lineup, how about a $299 phone? The OnePlus Nord N30 5G is the ideal purchase if you can’t spend over $300. It’s a solid entry-level offering.
Not everyone needs a ton of features inside a phone, nor is that person willing to spend a lot of money to buy a phone. Smartphones have been getting more and more expensive, but there are still relatively affordable options out there. If you’re working with $300 max budget and want a OnePlus phone, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G is the device for you.
The OnePlus Nord N30 5G is a solid smartphone. We’ve had a good time with it while we were reviewing it, and for the asking price, it delivers. Its processor is far from being a last-gen one, but it performed perfectly fine in combination with 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 flash storage. No, it did not offer flagship-grade performance by any means, but the phone was working just fine day-to-day. That’s what you can expect at this price tag, don’t expect all the bells and whistles.
The main camera was just fine, while the macro camera is forgettable, but it’s there. The display is not an AMOLED panel, but you are getting a 120Hz IPS LCD display here, which is great at this price. There is also a good battery capacity included, a 5,000mAh unit, not to mention 50W wired charging. This phone may be a bit older, but it’s still working perfectly fine.

Much like with the OnePlus 13R, the main appealing point of this phone is its price. For under $300 you’re getting a phone with a 120Hz display, which offers really good performance, and has a capable main camera. Not only that, but it offers good battery life and faster charging than some flagship smartphones do.
That’s not something many sub $300 smartphones can say for themselves, that’s for sure. Yes, OnePlus had to cut corners here, of course, but the company cut the right corners. The OnePlus Nord N30 5G still feels like a very capable smartphone, regardless of its price. There are plenty of users out there who don’t need any additional features.
Don’t let the fact that this phone was introduced in 2023 deter you from getting one, if basic is all you need. For not that much cash, you can get a (still) very capable phone. The OnePlus 13R is an easier recommendation, but that phone also costs twice as much, so… there you go.
