
Here’s a hypothetical for you. Let’s say an automaker added a new engine option to the line-up; depending on the trim, it’s the most expensive engine option. That doesn’t mean it’s the most powerful, though. It’s actually the second least powerful. It’s also less efficient than some of the more powerful options. Would you go for it? Based on that description – unlikely. It sounds crazy, right? Yet, that’s exactly what Ram is doing by bringing back the Hemi V8 in the 1500 pickup truck: It costs more than the standard-output Hurricane six-cylinder, and is a no-charge option over the high-output Hurricane, both of which offer more power. So why would you choose it?
