The third-generation Jeep Compass debuted to considerable fanfare in May 2025. That’s because the outgoing model was nearly 10 years old and definitely showing its age, but there was a catch. The 2026 Compass with its sharper body lines and range of powertrains debuted for Europe. With the new Compass built in Italy, and thus subject to President Trump’s tariffs, there was wide speculation it wouldn’t be offered in the United States, at least not right away.
