Meet America’s most powerful sedan for under $60k
Dodge has officially opened orders for its four-door Charger Scat Pack with the SixPack powertrain, which is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane six-cylinder engine. While consumers have struggled to embrace an electric Charger, this one is easier to love—it produces 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, so there’s plenty of performance, even if it’s nothing to match the electric Charger Daytona.
Dodge claims this is the most powerful sedan under $60,000, as it kicks off at $56,995 for the 2026 model year. Let’s take a closer look at this brawny sedan and its closest rivals for the price.

Modern Muscle in a More Practical Package

Stellantis
The two-door Charger with the same engine is already available and will start at $54,995 for 2026, so is slightly cheaper than the four-door model. Not everyone can live with the limitations of a two-door coupe, though, which is where the four-door Charger Six-Pack comes in.
At well over 200 inches long, this is a proper full-size sedan, the likes of which have largely disappeared from non-luxury brands in the United States. American brands like Lincoln and Buick don’t have anything similar in concept to this Charger.
2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack
Despite its size, the Hurricane mill is powerful enough to get the Charger Scat Pack to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The quarter-mile takes just 12.2 seconds, while the top speed is 177 mph. It doesn’t sound half bad, either, even if it’s no Hemi V8 in that department. All-wheel drive is standard, but the car has a rear-wheel-drive mode for smoky burnouts. The racy interior has performance seats in a mix of leather and suede, along with a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen.
“This is Dodge doing what Dodge does best: building muscle, pushing boundaries and giving customers real choices,” said Dodge CEO Matt McAlear. “Whether it’s high output, two doors or four, SIXPACK or Daytona, we’re delivering a lineup that’s as powerful and diverse as our fans. And with 550 horsepower in a four-door sedan priced under $56,995, we’re proving that practicality doesn’t have to be boring—it can burn rubber.”
What Are The Charger’s Closest Rivals?
BMW M340i
Quite simply, there’s no direct rival for the Dodge Charger. Comparably-sized sedans or those with similar performance are far pricier, and those that can keep up with the Dodge in a straight line for similar money are a lot smaller.
BMW’s closest alternative on price and performance is the M340i xDrive, which has 386 hp from its 3.0-liter six-pot and can hit 60 in 4.1 seconds. It’s pricier at $63,700, but it’s not nearly as large as the Charger, as the BMW is a compact sedan.
Closer in size is the new Audi A6 sedan, but it’s much less powerful (362 hp), slower (0-60 in 4.5 seconds), and a lot more expensive ($64,100). Cadillac’s CT5-V has a twin-turbo V6 producing 360 hp and it starts at a comparable $57,600, but it’s smaller, older, and slower than the Dodge.
Other full-size sedans like the Audi A8, Genesis G90, and BMW 7 Series fall into a completely different price bracket where you’ll need to spend over $80k, so can’t be logically compared with the Charger.
Final Thoughts
There’s nothing else like the four-door Dodge Charger out there. It simply offers more car and horsepower for your buck than any other sedan. This has been Dodge’s unique selling point for years now—it may not produce the most refined or sophisticated cars, but they consistently outmuscle the competition. The same is true in other categories, where the Dodge Durango is the cheapest V8-powered SUV you can buy.
Non-luxury brands have largely abandoned the full-size sedan segment, leaving the Charger Scat Pack four-door to have things all to itself.
Production and deliveries of the sedan will begin in early 2026, and we hope it’s as good to drive as its on-paper specifications suggest.
