The C8 generation Corvette is an outstanding piece of American engineering, a car that proves a mid-engined driving experience doesn’t need to cost six-figures. But if you asked for my honest opinion, I prefer driving a McLaren or a Porsche; there’s something about the way those cars sound, how they feel, and how they make me feel when I’m seen in them. Is the Corvette equally fast (or faster) on paper? Absolutely. But like I said, my car-obsessed brain is chock-full of bias. It takes a lot to clear a lifetime preference towards European cars, but the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a whole lot of car. Just two days with the ZR1 acted as a magic eraser to all my preconceived notions.
