Cadillac is slowly recapturing its status as a luxury brand to be taken seriously, and it’s largely thanks to a strong lineup of high-end EVs. Models like the Lyriq and Optiq are successfully poaching customers from prestigious German marques, and what has also been a major image-booster for Cadillac is the Celestiq. A true Rolls-Royce competitor, the Celestiq EV arrived with a mega $340,000 price tag when it first went on sale. For 2026, the ultra-luxury land yacht is getting a massive price increase, pushing it into even more exclusive territory.

Over $60,000 More Expensive

For 2026, the Cadillac Celestiq will start in the low-$400,000 range, which represents an increase of at least $60,000. On its own, the value of that increase could buy you a base 2026 Lyriq, which starts at $59,200.
“The bespoke spirit of Celestiq extends to transaction price and will be determined by the client’s level of curation,” wrote Cadillac in an email to GM Authority. “The canvas for 2026 model year starts at low-$400K.”
Like a Rolls-Royce or Bentley, you can add many thousands more to the price of the Celestiq once you’re done customizing it, so we expect the actual translation price to be closer to $450,000. It’s a staggering amount of money and makes the Celestiq more expensive than a Rolls-Royce Ghost and a few thousand more than the electric Rolls-Royce Spectre.
The Most Advanced Cadillac Ever

If you can afford the Celestiq, you’ll be buying the most technologically advanced Caddy ever built. It features over 275 patented and patent-pending technologies, with innovations including a four-zone smart glass roof, five HD interactive displays spread around the interior, and an industry-first ClimateSense individual four-zone microclimate system.
But in this class, technology should never come at the expense of craftsmanship. The Celestiq doesn’t disappoint here either. Handcrafted materials and textures encompass high-end leathers, carbon fiber, and even crystal glass. A personal Cadillac design concierge will assist you in designing your bespoke model, right down to an in-person consultation.
No apparent changes have been made to the powertrain for the new model year, so dual motors producing 655 horsepower and 646 lb-ft of torque remain. These are capable of getting the large EV up to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, aided by all-wheel traction.

Is a $400,000 Cadillac Worth it?

It’s difficult to have a rational conversation about cars at this price point. Beyond $200,000, these are largely emotional purchases, with value for money falling way down the list of priorities.
The Celestiq certainly has the presence, craftsmanship, technology, and performance to take on its more prestigious rivals. It’s that last point that’s still a question mark—at this level, brand cachet is important, and although Cadillac does have some clout, it’s not at the level of Bentley or Rolls-Royce.
Sales for the Celestiq are unknown, not that Cadillac is bothered. It only planned to produce 25 cars for the 2025 model year, and by around May of this year, most had been sold.
