Fuqua Development plans to redevelop the Stone Mountain Tennis Center, a long-shuttered venue that was a key facility for the 1996 Summer Olympics. On the site, Fuqua announced plans to build a Costco-anchored mixed-use project.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Fuqua acquired two parcels, totaling 31 acres, for $9.6 million. Costco and Greystar have since purchased the lots, which will include the warehouse and an apartment complex, with an expected investment of $200 million.
Costco is set to build a 155,000-square-foot warehouse – with a gas station and hundreds of dedicated parking spaces – along West Park Place Boulevard near U.S. 78. The store could open to shoppers by late 2026.
Greystar plans to build 248 apartment units across six acres in several buildings. Construction is scheduled to begin on the apartments by May 2026, followed by the start of leasing in November 2027.
Other components of the project, called Mountain Marketplace, include an undisclosed bank and a Whataburger and Chick-fil-A.
