Huffines Communities broke ground on Lakesong, a 2,700-acre master-planned community encompassing the towns of Grand Prairie and Midlothian in Ellis County. The site is at the intersection of Kimble Road and U.S. 287.
When fully developed, Lakesong will comprise approximately 5,000 single-family lots, 2,000 multifamily units, and 40 acres of commercial space. The community will feature 780 acres of open space, a 100-acre private lake, and a large network of parks and trails designed to inspire connection and outdoor activity.
Amenities will include fishing ponds, swimming pools, pickleball courts, sports facilities, fitness centers, and multiple community centers—all thoughtfully planned to support a lively, active lifestyle.
Construction on the first phase of single-family homes is underway, and the first model homes are expected to be complete late next year.
