The 90s never truly died
If you’ve been yearning for the era when Nickelodeon was king and Tamagotchis were all the rage, eBay is looking to teleport you backwards in time. The online retailer is celebrating 30 years by opening what they call the “’95 Shop,” a retail pop-up and online storefront spotlighting iconic vehicles and accessories of the era, so named because of eBay’s founding in 1995.

A Land Rover to start it all off
Headlining the collection is a classic 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, which is up for auction on eBay’s official 95 Shop page with a starting bid of just 95 cents. The auction ends in just over two days, and is already sitting at $23,323 with a Buy It Now price of $64,995. This particular example is finished in the iconic shade of “Monza Red” and sports less than 80,000 miles on the odometer. To say it’s ready for a lifetime of off-roading adventures would be an understatement.

Of course, Land Rovers weren’t the only thing hot in the 90s. Surrounding this dirt road legend is a collection of “30 greatest hits,” a collection of period-correct iconic fashion, collectibles, and motors that have had a significant impact on culture. These pieces weren’t just chosen by some AI algorithm; they were inspired by eBay’s own search data and curated by American actress, television personality, and business leader Sarah Michelle Gellar. If that name sounds familiar and you don’t know where from, or maybe that was way before your time, Gellar achieved worldwide fame for her role as Buffy Summers in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Some of the finest choices on offer include a 1995 Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Rue Cambon Paris Belt, an incredibly wacky-looking 1995 Jean Paul Gaultier Cyber Punk Top, an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, a 1994-95 Michael Jordan Autographed Bulls M&N White 45 Jersey, and a 1999 Pokémon Charizard Holo 1st Edition Shadowless with a PSA rating of 5.

Final thoughts
I was born in 1998, so I can’t claim to be a ’90s kid. That said, it doesn’t mean I don’t have an appreciation for some of the things that came out of that era. After all, the Ford Probe and just about every Saturn were damn nice-looking cars, and I won’t hear any words to the contrary.
