FC Dallas obtained permits to start demolition and redevelopment of the east side of Toyota Stadium in Frisco. The club hopes to have the eastside project completed by the 2026 World Cup.
The stadium will undergo $182 million in upgrades, including canopies to add shade, more seating by reconstructing the venue’s underused north end, new and improved clubs and suites and more.
Besides the stadium upgrades, FC Dallas owner Hunt Sports Group envisions a sports and entertainment district with more than 1 million square feet of office space, a 200-room hotel and a 200-unit multifamily tower.
Demolition will take six to eight weeks and buildings will start going up this summer.
FC Dallas partnered with HKS Architects on the design for the renovations and Moss and Associates LLC for construction.
