The Toyota FJ Cruiser is back, and the most obvious place to start is the name. It’s no longer called the FJ Cruiser, but rather the Land Cruiser FJ. Toyota’s retro-inspired off-roader is taking a step-up in the world, blessed with the famous “Land Cruiser” name. It joins the ranks of the Land Cruiser 300, the Land Cruiser Prado (or just the Land Cruiser in the USA), and the Land Cruiser 70 Series. Toyota has been very selective about which cars get to use this precious name, which makes this a big moment in the history of the brand.
