Not every car that is popular today started life as an unmitigated success. The ever-changing automotive landscape, consumer tastes, regulations, and the transition from new to classic status all have a bearing on how vehicles are perceived. Some are too ahead of their time to be appreciated when new. Others are simply too flawed to be appreciated as daily transport, but make much more sense as seldom-used classics.
