Automakers typically have multiple reasons for rolling out a concept car, and sometimes one of those reasons is to preview an upcoming production model. Without any regulations or market demands to meet, designers have the freedom to push boundaries, experiment with bold proportions, and test the waters with elements never intended for mass production. This creative liberty means that production models are seldom exact copies of the concepts that previewed them, though there are rare exceptions, such as the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Lexus LC.
