A Veterans Day Jeep
Every November, car brands line up their Veterans Day campaigns – discounts, special trims, or limited-run models that pay tribute to those who served. For Jeep and Fox Factory, the gesture takes on a more literal form: a purpose-built off-roader named the Wrangler Commando 392.
Developed jointly by Jeep and Fox Factory – the same company that brought us the 650-horsepower Ram 1500 street truck – the Commando is more than a cosmetic salute. It’s a limited-edition Wrangler that channels the brand’s military roots while showing off Fox’s suspension expertise.
The idea is simple – build a Jeep Wrangler that represents the brand’s 85-year history with the US military, but sharpen it with modern engineering. The result looks like something straight out of a desert base, but with the kind of refinement expected from a $70,000 off-roader.

Built for the Battlefield (and Beyond)
As expected, the Wrangler Commando 392 wears the ’41 paint finish, a nod to the original wartime Jeeps, paired with color-matched high-top fender flares and Ivory White beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. Mopar tube doors, a stubby front bumper with LED lights, and an optional WARN winch complete the look.
Inside, the Katzkin tan leather seats with “Commando” embroidery give the cabin a vintage vibe, matched by a digital rearview mirror and a dashboard-mounted accessory rail for gear or gadgets. A Bestop Bimini top provides open-air freedom, and an interior-mounted spare tire rack with an accessory panel keeps the utility theme alive.
Underneath, the Commando rides on a JKS 3.5-inch lift suspension with FOX 3.0 internal bypass shocks and a FOX ATS steering stabilizer – a setup designed to handle both trails and tarmac.

Serious Firepower and Serious Exclusivity
Power comes from Jeep’s 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8, delivering 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed automatic and 4×4 electronic shift-on-the-fly system. For those craving more, a Whipple Gen 6 3.0L supercharger pushes output to 705 hp and 655 lb-ft, while an optional Magnaflow exhaust adds some extra sound.
Starting at $69,995, the Wrangler Commando 392 is not something anyone can buy, unless you’re a veteran or in active-duty service. Only 250 units will be built, with the last one headed to auction during Military Appreciation Month, with proceeds going to the USO.
