IBMÂ Corp. will be moving into the spot where Meta had planned to go after signing a lease in 2024. Meta never moved in. IBM will move into the Domain 12 tower next year, accelerating plans it had previously made. They had initially planned to move in 2027.
IBM inked the Domain 12 lease after a lengthy search for a new office that began in 2022. The Austin Business Journal reports IBM will spend $40 million to renovate 320,000 square feet in the Cousins-owned property.
In 2023, IBM seemingly found a new home in The Domain at a to-be-developed office project from Houston-based Hines, in which IBM pre-leased 320,000 square feet. However, that office project failed to materialize and the lease agreement was terminated.
IBM also leases a full 490,000-square-foot building owned by Stonelake Capital Partners at 11400 Burnet Road.
