During a recent trip to Japan, CarBuzz got to drive a pre-production prototype of the 2026 Honda Prelude, getting an early glimpse into whether the sporty coupe – not a sports car – lives up to the hype or deserves the online lashing it’s received. During the Honda Tech Workshop at the automaker’s Tochigi Proving Ground, we caught up with Yoshiharu Saito, the Prelude’s lead engineer, to find out why certain engineering choices were made and whether the Prelude has room to grow.
