“I wouldn’t mind driving an electric pickup, but they’re so expensive!” That’s something you hear a lot, seeing as a Ford F-150 Lightning starts at an MSRP of $62,995 for the 2025 model year, and a Rivian R1T starts at $69,900, but an entry-level 400-horsepower combustion-powered F-150 can be had for just $37,290 for 2026, and a Tacoma starts at $32,145. If you need a practical, daily driver that can haul some furniture now and then, it’s hard to justify spending twice the price just to go electric.
