Gemini Live gets the ability to interact with other Google apps in real-time. After the announcement at I/O 2025, Google is reportedly testing support for core apps like Calendar, Keep notes, Tasks, and Maps for several weeks. This is finally rolling out more widely. Gemini Live will be able to interact with other apps through app-specific extensions, which are present in the standard version of Gemini.
Gemini Live can have real-time interactions with Google apps
You can interact with Gemini Live by asking for information from the said four apps, i.e., Calendar, Keep, Maps, and Tasks, in real-time. The app’s name will appear in a toast message. There’s also an incomplete circle that can be seen rotating next to the app’s name while it processes the information.

With the support for Live, you can instruct the AI chatbot to pull out information from supported apps. You can also interrupt it midway, and change your query or ask a completely different question without waiting for the commands to process sequentially. Android Authority reports that this is present on multiple devices running Android 15 or 16.Â
The feature is live on Android and iOS
Additionally, the app snippets in Gemini Live could be in the works as well, alongside extensions. However, this functionality has yet to go live. Details regarding support for third-party apps through Gemini Live are not clear at the moment. Google Gemini Live app access rolled out on Android (Google app beta and stable) and iOS.
Meanwhile, Google confirms it’s working on fixing Gemini’s overly self-critical and defeatist responses. Some users opine that Gemini is mimicking human sentiments as it trains on online content.
