Samsung has announced its very first tri-fold smartphone very recently. Its name is the Galaxy Z TriFold, and we’ve already talked plenty about it. However, some new information has just surfaced. The Galaxy Z TriFold box contents popped up, along with its Android updates situation, and more.
The Galaxy Z TriFold does include a charger in the retail box
Let’s start with the retail box. If you take a look at the image below, you’ll see everything that’s inside. In addition to the phone itself, you’ll get a thin protective case in black color, which will certainly add some grip to the equation.
In addition to that, a charger is included, along with a Type-C to Type-C charging cable. Samsung no longer includes chargers in the box, so this is a surprise. A SIM ejector tool is also shown here, along with some paperwork. You can also see the box itself.
It will receive Android OS updates for 7 years
What about updates? Well, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will get great support from the company, as expected. The phone will be supported for 7 years, and it will be actually be getting 7 years of Android OS updates.
As a reminder, the phone comes with Android 16 out of the box, on top of which you’ll find the One UI 8 skin. That means that the phone should be updated all the way to Android 23.
It does not support the S Pen stylus
What else? Well, we’ve noticed that some people were wondering if the phone has S Pen support. Why? Well, mainly due to its size. We suspected that it does not, as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not, and we were right.
Samsung has officially confirmed, on its website, that the Galaxy Z TriFold does not support the S Pen. That’s a shame, but it’s not totally unexpected, that’s for sure.
It is also worth noting that every Galaxy Z TriFold buyer gets a 50% display repair discount. Considering that there are still a lot of details missing regarding this, don’t take it for granted. Samsung hasn’t mentioned whether this benefits the foldable panel, or just the cover display. Also, we don’t know how much in general does the display repair costs, so even with a 50% discount, it could be a lot.
It is expected to land in the US in Q1 2026
The Galaxy Z TriFold arrived to Korea first, but it’s also coming to China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the US. It’s expected to become available in the US in the first quarter of next year.
