The Samsung Galaxy S26 series – all three models – will have upgraded RAM next year. According to Ice Universe, the entire Galaxy S26 series will use LPDDR5X 10.7Gbps memory, which is currently in mass production and will start at 12GB. So the Pixel 10 series still has more RAM but the Galaxy S26 series will have faster RAM, which will actually open up some more features for the camera.
In fact, Ice Universe created a graphic to show how the camera would be upgraded in the Galaxy S26 thanks to the upgraded RAM here. Of course, the big thing you’ll notice here is teh noise reduction. Thanks to the faster RAM, Samsung will be able to use more complex AI models and deeper layers. Giving you cleaner night images, higher AI super-res clarity as well.
You can check out all of the features that would be improved below.

RAM will still start at 12GB on the Galaxy S26 series
Unfortunately, the Galaxy S26 series will still start at just 12GB of RAM. Though, since it is going to “start” there, we do believe that Samsung will offer a 16GB model for the Ultra. It’ll likely be a 16GB/1TB option for Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is what they’ve done with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, offering more RAM on the highest storage model.
While the ISP will benefit the most from this faster RAM, it’s not the only thing that will improve on your Galaxy S26 with LPDDR5X RAM. Everything should run just a bit faster than on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Of course, a big part of that is also the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
The Galaxy S26 series should be announced in Late February and on store shelves by early March. So we still have a ways to go before the devices are officially announced.
