Earlier this year, Apple confirmed the date for WWDC 2026, which is set to kick off on June 8. But if you’re curious as to what will be announced or discussed at the event, Apple has published the schedule on its website.
Apple confirms WWDC 2026 date
As usual, the keynote will be the first thing that kicks off. Apple confirmed that the WWDC 2026 keynote date is for June 8 at 10AM PDT. This event will be streamable for everyone, so you can tune in if you want to see what the company has up their sleeves. This is followed by the Platforms State of the Union, which is on the same date, but at 1PM PDT.
Apple also says there will be video sessions and guides aimed at helping developers create apps for iOS and macOS, followed by group labs, the Apple Design Awards, and the Swift Student Challenge. According to Apple, “This year’s Challenge honored 350 winners, including 50 Distinguished Winners who have been invited to Cupertino for a special three-day experience during WWDC week.”
For the most part, it sounds pretty similar to last year’s event. The main difference is that the focus will be on upcoming software updates and possibly AI-related topics too. Don’t expect any hardware announcements. Those will most likely take place in September alongside the new iPhones.
What to expect?
If you’re not a developer, then chances are the upcoming iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and macOS 27 are the software updates that are worth keeping an eye out for. For iPhone users, iOS 27 could bring about some interesting changes. More recently, there are rumors that iOS 27 could finally bring about pro camera controls to the native camera app. This is partly fueled by Apple’s recent hire of Halide co-founder Sebastiaan de With.
Also, Apple could finally be ready to show off its upgraded Siri. Apple promised to revamp Siri quite a while ago, but this year could be the year it’s finally ready to debut. Apple’s upcoming Siri model will be powered by a custom Gemini model. Apple is also rumored to debut a new Ask Siri button.
In any case, while the focus is on developers, there should be stuff for regular folks too. Either way, check back with us in the coming weeks for the details.
