Backbone is entering into a collaborative partnership with Kith to launch a limited edition version of its Backbone Pro controller. Kith is a lifestyle brand based in New York City that began with sneakers and has since branched out to apparel that includes luxury fashion, streetwear, and lifestyle products. This new controller would fall under the lifestyle category, and it’s a partnership that Backbone seems rather proud of.
The company states that “We’ve always believed gaming is for everyone, and that it should sit next to the things people already love: fashion, music, sport, film. That’s why this Kith collab matters so much to me. Kith has spent the last decade doing what we aspire to do in gaming: taking something people already love and elevating it with taste.”
The Backbone Pro Kith limited edition controller will be available in under 3 days
Neither Backbone nor Kith mentions how many of these controllers will be available. However, it will be limited, so if you want one, you’ll probably want to be ready to purchase one as soon as they go up for sale. As one would have it, the Backbone Pro Kith Limited Edition goes on sale in just under 3 days.
According to Backbone’s website, there are 2 days and 19 hours left before you can buy one. That’s December 5. You’ll also be limited to where you can buy one. Backbone itself doesn’t seem to be carrying the controller. Instead, you’ll need to pick one up on the Kith website or in one of Kith’s physical stores. It’s not clear if the Kith model will be more expensive than the regular pro controller, which is $169.99. Considering Kith’s prices on lifestyle apparel, however, it wouldn’t be surprising if it were slightly more expensive.
Whatever the price, the main appeal will be its translucent shell that allows you to see the components on the inside. It’s a time-tested design that’s been popular in gaming for decades, and that surely won’t change now.
