After announcing in October, Google Keep is now slowly rolling out the migration of reminders to Tasks. You will see a “Reminders are now Google Tasks” prompt once it’s rolling out to your device. Google Keep is a widely used app to jot down quick notes, create checklists, and more. The app has also supported reminders for a long time now. But in April last year, it was learned that reminders in Keep would migrate to Tasks. This is finally happening now.
Google Keep migration of reminders to Tasks is slowly rolling out
Tapping the bell icon in the top-right corner of a note, you’ll see a “Reminders are now Google Tasks” pop-up. Users will be able to view, edit, and complete reminders from Assistant, Calendar, Gemini, Tasks, and Keep, says the pop-up. You’ll see the Tasks’ blue icon at the top of the sheet that appears when tapping the bell icon.
The options for “Tomorrow morning,” “Tomorrow evening,” the “Same day,” and “Next week,” as well as “Pick a date & time with repeat intervals,” remain as is. However, Google removes the “Home,” “Work,” and “Pick a place” options. This is because Google Tasks does not offer location-based reminders.

Not everyone has it yet
Once you set a date/time for your reminder in Google Keep, it will appear in the Tasks app and Calendar grid. Each reminder created this way will have a “From Keep” label in the Tasks. Google Keep retains the “Reminders” page, which is accessible from the navigation drawer. You can either delete only the note or both the note and the reminder in Keep. However, there’s no such option if you delete the reminder from Tasks.
Google Keep will no longer send notifications for reminders. Google Calendar or Tasks will take care of that. You can edit the date/time of reminders from the Keep notes, Tasks, or Calendar. Any app can mark them complete. However, you can only edit a reminder’s name in the Calendar or Tasks app.
The Google Keep migration of reminders to Tasks is slowly rolling out to select accounts, but not everyone has access to it at the moment. This is reportedly appearing in Keep Notes version 5.25.461.02.90.
