As many of you know, the latest Pixel Feature Drop arrived a bit early and started to roll out to Pixel phones yesterday. With it, Google’s Pixel devices are also getting the November 2025 Android security patch.
The November 2025 Android update starts rolling out to Pixel 7a and newer devices
We’ve already talked about the Pixel Feature Drop itself, and are here now to talk about the security update. Some of you are probably wondering what it delivers, so, let’s get into it. Google did publish official info. Do note that the update is coming to Pixel 7a and newer devices.
First and foremost, this update brings fixes for 2 security issues in Android 16. Google mentioned that the issues are high and critical, so it’s one of each, it seems. The issues themselves are not detailed, though, as per usual.
In addition to these two fixes, the company detailed a list of other fixes that it issued with this update. All devices will benefit from improvements to charging and battery usage. The same goes for a fix for “instability and intermittent problems with emergency calling functionality under certain conditions.”
Audio instability and performance slowdowns have been addressed
Google has also addressed audio instability and performance slowdowns on the Pixel 8 series and newer phones. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series phones are getting a fix for a rainbow-like color pattern when ultrawide or telephoto cameras are in use.
That is pretty much it. There’s not a lot included in the changelog, but it’s nice to see that Google is squashing bugs in addition to pushing new features and improving the security aspect of its devices.
This update is rolling out as we speak, globally. However, it is rolling out in stages, so it may take a while for you to get it. Do note that the November 2025 Android security patch is coming attached to the Pixel Feature Drop, so you’ll get one update, not two.
